Social Media – Connecting People…..

Social Media – Connecting People…..

Social Media – Connecting People…..

If we just close our eyes and think, how often we used to go to our relatives and friends place just 10-20 years back.  It used to be jollity and mockery all around, when the gang of our cousins and friends be altogether at our Granny’s place.  That era was really the golden era in real sense because there used to be no gadgets in our hands and no access to internet.  Life was as simple as we could had played with mud, had rolled down in green fields, climbed on somebody’s trees to stolen their fruits and so on.  How blessed we truly were to have felt the beauty of nature so closely and also to had gaiety with our kith and kins.  It seems quite a fantasy now….Isn’t it?

Here are few pictures of 1990’s games which we used to play with our siblings, cousins and friends.  Hope, you got to recollect those beautiful moments by seeing these everlasting pictures….

But today’s life is altogether a different scenario because of the concept of nuclear families, tough competition among people in different spheres of life, the very busy schedule to earn livelihood and advanced life style etc.  Because of the prevailing lifestyle, we hardly get time to visit our relatives or friends place.  Therefore, all thanks to the ‘Technology’ as it has offered us the facility to be in touch with our extended families and friends through the means of electronic gadgets and social media.  Isn’t it a majestic gift to us to keep our social circle alive in our hearts?  Of course, it is.

Apart from our relatives and friends, Social media helps us to get connected to more and more people across the world.  It enables us to know what is going on in the lives of our friends.  It reminds us the Birthdays, Wedding Anniversaries and other such events of our friends and lets us greet them and feel them special.  However, being so busy with our work; we come to know the latest updates of world happenings, the cricket scores, the share market reports, the bollywood gossips and all other relevant information in just a single click on our social media.  We can reach out to people who are lost in their lives, through our blogs, videos and inspirational posts; to inspire, guide and to uplift their state of mind by the means of social media.  We can also promote our business overnight on social media by reaching to the masses across the world without spending a penny on printing the banners or flex boards or other such print mediums, as social media has proved to be the largest yet effective mode of advertisement nowadays. It also lets you chat with the people; to whom you have never met in person and a family like bonding gets developed just by exchanging the messages or having them on video calling.  In some exceptional cases, social media becomes the mediocre to bring two unknown people, from different parts of the country, so close to each other that they gets married.  On the other hand, Social media plays a very vital role in highlighting the corrupt and atrocious people tremendously as compared to print media and other electronic media.  Also, social media has become a powerful channel to rescind any type of menace or cruelty from our society.

Although, social media is very utilitarian platform for each one of us but still you will find some people in your friend list, who carry the symbol of their so called ego, by being an apathetic spectator there on social media round the clock but restricting themselves to rejoinder.  I wonder; what is the fun of making friends on social media, when people can’t even like, comment or greet to their friends.

Well, despite having so many prevailing positive aspects of the social media, there are some perfidious people, who create glitzy, ferocious and fake accounts, videos and posts, which generates hue and cry in the minds of the people and because of which many people are having a wrong image about social media.  This is the reason why some new users scare to even create their accounts on social media.

To sum up, we must be thankful to people like Mark Zuckerberg, who developed Facebook like social media networking sites/apps and because of which people far away from us seems very close to our heart.
