Happiness is like a butterfly……..

Happiness is like a butterfly……..

Happiness is like a butterfly……..

It flies away from you when you run after it………… It sits on your shoulder when you stop seeking it……..

Happiness for her was to know she belonged to him.  Happiness for her was to run her fingers thru’ his hair.

For  her ‘twas a state of bliss without a care. But alas! Life took him away from her; she belonged not to him.

Loving him with all his faults had been her happiness.  Suffering with him all upheavals had been her happiness

Living with him their tough life had been her happiness. Sharing his upheavals of life had been her happiness.

Suddenly out of the blue, he turned away from her.  He had chopped her existence from his life.

He took away the moon from her eyes.  And left in them a sea of tears.

Her love for him did not just happen. For theirs was a union arranged by their parents.

She with her will power willed the love into their lives. Even if it meant ignoring her disappointments and sighs.

Nevertheless, her love was true.

They lived together for many years.  They laughed together as they shared their tears.

She stood by him in all their crises.  While slowly had love crept into her heart.

But he just turned away from her.  He just let her be…..

Broken in spirit and her in life. For she no longer was his wife.

His love is what she had always sought. But cruel Providence had willed it not.

Acceptance and approval is what she looked for.  Neither acceptance she received approval nor.

She stood watching the rough sea hit the rocks.  Very much like her, withstanding shock of shocks.

The sea reflected her inner turmoil. She wondered whether she hit back or withdraw into a coil.

Her parents had taught her to be brave.  Pity not for herself, but for others save.

She would come to terms with life. Now as a complete woman, not as his wife.

She dreamt new dreams and raised hopes in her heart.  She vowed with negative thoughts to part.

She filled her mind with renewed vigour. While she broadened her horizons, bigger and better.

She turned to her friend, when in doubt.  Her friend whose friendship she had always got.

That friend who stood by her thru’ thick and thin. Thru’ silence, noisy turmoil and din.

Her friend, who laughed with her in joy. The one who inspired life’s joys in her sorrows.

That friend, with whom she could be herself. That friend who sought her, not power, not pelf.

Her friend, who would not let her weep.  That friend, whose feelings for her ran very deep.

One who saw her not just as a friend but as a woman. Who was if not more, equal to any man.

Her every wish her friend sought to fulfil.  Her every thought her friend could read.

Every sorrow of hers, with joy her friend would re-fill.  Every thought of her’s her friend just feed.

One morning she woke up to realise………

While she sought nothing in life. Just lived to the fullest one moment to another.

Her friend, like the proverbial butterfly, gave her the happiness and didn’t  let her die.

All her life she sought and she sought.  What she received amounted to nought.

As she learned to stop seeking and start living.  Life gave her everything she was deserving.

Seek not for the elusive and weep.  Waste not life to look back at what you reap.

Just live life fullest to each day.  And look out not at rough seas but the calm bay.

A woman comes to her own only when she realises that she does not need a man to complete her.

Happiness cannot be earned through brownie points!
Life pours on us what we are destined to and half of what we intend to do.

Seek nothing by chasing.
Rest faith and hope be assured.
Good things are yet to come.
Lovely.
