Ancient arts and cultures has tremendous meaning hidden in the lifestyles and food. Almost every ancient person we think about were illiterates but the way they learnt science in different pattern or I can call it practical way is most convincing even today!! Yes I’m talking about our grand mothers and great grand mothers who were having hold on enriched recipes for doctor and medicine less life. We Indians are blessed with many different spices which has medicine for any disease god forbid!! Olden days scientists were our grandmothers and ultimate laboratories were their kitchens. Having good amount of physical activity along with healthy food made them beautiful in an unique way. I wish we will continue the way of living again with civilisation as an add on part to it. I guess slowly every old method is coming back as a old wine in a new bottle. Glad to retrieve them in our every day life style.

Grand ma’s  recipes were so amazing. I refer to one of the oldest recipes here Ragi Malt it used to be either every day morning’s breakfast or would be like a evening power drink. The recipe is very flexible to eat in solid state or drink in liquid form with many natural nutrients in it. Ingredients added to it are fantabulous and are best suited to eat in any climate irrespective of age. Because of good amount of physical activity and consumed healthy food I doubt the diabetes kind of diseases were ever existed.

The tendency of the ingredients added to the recipe would have heat effect, cold effect, vata, pitta in balance to control our body As we say any thing consumed in limits would balance our body mass and health too.

Ragi malt in South India is vastly consumed in olden days and as a part of health conscious these days people or scientists, dieticians, nutrionists are referring the very old recipe for children to build more stamina along with they also advising to enrol children in any possible sport for healthy life style. Old methodologies are always at it best. The connoisseur of Ragi malt would definitely experience the profound good effect of that in long run.

As a child I consumed lots of Ragi malt and I’m continuing the  legacy with my child either. Another form of Ragi we used to eat was popped Ragi flour with milk. Absolutely healthy no botheration of putting on weight. Many such things were in practice that’s why we very rarely used to see obesity in children in our childhood. No pressures from any where we used to be so playful. No introduction to junk which indeed are causing unanimous harm to the health of every individual these days.

Many a times I feel our childhood experiences are very beautiful. No exposure to unwanted things always relying on physical activity and good healthy food. Numerous recipes of our grand mothers are absolutely miraculous if we go through the procedure and ingredients meticulously.

For a vegetarian the protein they consume will not be sufficient enough to pull up the day to day needs. Even though our grandmas were illiterates they were so thoughtful to know that grains contains proteins and they innovatively discovered the recipes like Ragi Malt for maintaining good health and lively spirit.

I’m blessed to grow with grandparents and followed some of old recipes. I feel every mother should switch over to the regional old grandma’s recipes to bring those healthy lives, as we see these days lack of immunity or exercises people are prone to many diseases like diabetes, blood pressure etc.

Hope every one would try Ragi Malt and continue consuming by family as a whole which has an impeccable effect in long run for healthy lifestyle and may keep one away from slow poisoned diseases.
