A lock and key

A lock and key

As Maahi held the baby close to her bosom after feeding it *nascent feelings of motherhood enveloped her very being.
As the babies’ pink fingers curled around her long manicured ones, she realized that soon she was going to miss the baby. Her body would ache for it, she would want to hold him in her arms, rock it to sleep. Her heart would ache wondering whether he was sleeping soundly or was stirring in his sleep.
It broke her heart to know that their life together was now over- she had to give him away as promised to her elder sister. She had carried the baby to term, the cache of memories of the nine months- would have to be put under lock and key, never to visit them again.
